I think its fun when you are creating LTC’s to play with different embellishments to jazz up your cards. In this case I started with some pretty subtle colors for my background but then switched gears completely by adding two stripes of Martha Stewart Craft tape to the cards to brighten up the design. To continue bridging the gap between my original color pallet and the new color pallet I used my Copic markers to color Serena in colors that matched the paper tape. The final topping was to add a bit of bling by topping off her hat with a green or clear colored gem and adding a little flower bud by her feet. The flowers are In Color Dahlia’s from Stampin’ Up! I wish I had purchased several sets of the Dahlia flowers so I could have added multiple flowers to each card. Not all embellishments are available scaled down and these are just the right size for LTC’s.
Inquiring minds want to know: what ink did you use to get such nice vibrant black with that cute stamp?
ReplyDeleteYour carves are always so cute!!
ReplyDeleteMy very favorite ink in the whole world is Versafine Onyx Black by Tsukineko. It is an Instant Dry Pigment Ink but I emboss with it all the time using clear embossing powder. What I love, love, love about this ink is that it crisply captures the small details of any stamp (store bought or hand carved). I have three of these pads on my crafting table right now and another one in my LB bag. You can find them at any of the crafting stores and they run about $8.
