Miss. Coraline Jones LTC
With its vivid stop-motion animation combined with Neil Gaiman's imaginative story, Coraline is a film that's both visually stunning and wondrously entertaining. A young girl walks through a secret door and discovers a parallel reality that is eerily similar to the life she already knows, yet deeply unsettling in a number of ways. Welcome to Coraline's world.
I signed up for an LTC tracker titled "Where are they now?" Here is the exchange description from Seattle Bound: No one stays young forever. Ever wonder where Dennis The Menace ended up? Did Charlie Brown marry the his red headed crush? What did Archie do with his life? Lets get creative folks. Pick your favorite young cartoon character and imagine them as a teenager or a grown up. Or even imagine who they may have become...Did the Cartoons from the 1990s grow up to be today's celebrities. Lisa Simpson could be Hilary Clinton while Helga G. Pataki became Lady Gaga. The sky is the limit.
I selected Miss. Coraline Jones who is a spunky 11 year old girl in the 2009 stop-motion animation movie as my muse. Coraline is fearlessly courageous, and perhaps far too adventurous for her own good. I discovered this wonderful image of Coraline at 11 and as a teenager and could not resist carving the stamp for the exchange.
Once the stamp was carved I stamped and embossed the image, colored it with my Copic markers, trimmed the image and then mounted it on cardstock. To tie in a little more of Coraline's story into the card I added two black buttons. If you have seen Coraline you will understand the importance of the black buttons. Coraline is gloriously gothic and deliciously creepy. Just the way I like it!
