Idaho City Letterboxing - August 16, 2008

I rode up to Idaho City with three friends (Kathy, Cindy and Martin) last Saturday for a morning ride and lunch. The mornings are perfect for motorcycle rides with the sun low in the sky and the cool crisp air. I asked if they minded a quick stop after lunch to find the Boy Who Pet Bees Letterbox in the Idaho City Pioneer Cemetery. http://www.atlasquest.com/showinfo.html?gBoxId=81580 I was amazed to discover this cemetery after years of visiting Idaho City I never knew it existed. It is about a mile outside of town tucked up in the forest. It was such an interesting visit. Many of the graves are very old and there is beautifully rusted iron work around many of the graves. I am not sure what it means to pet bees but this young man appeared to have passed on after only 10 years of life. I think this is a very interesting place to visit and a fun letterbox find.
