The March 2011 issue of Sunset magazine featured a small Weekend Escape 2 page spread on Boise. I love these mini area snapshots of places that I have been to before to see if they picked restaurants, entertainment and places of interest that I have visited or have on my to-do list to try. It just so happens that they featured my current stomping grounds and I am happy to report that many of the suggestions I have already experienced. The Modern Hotel, Red Feather Lounge, Bittercreek Alehouse, Ballet Idaho Boise Philharmonic etc. What is extra fun about the article is that there are some suggestions that I have not experienced yet. That screams one thing to me "DATE NIGHT"! One of my favorite activities is to plan a date night that Mr. Blackvelvetrav knows nothing about. Anthony hates surprises and really prefers to know what it on the menu for our evenings or weekends out (can you say control freak). So you can imagine how much I delight in planning an entire day or evening without sharing a single detail. Oh, it is just so delicious. I won't list here what we have not been to but lets just say I may have added a couple of food venues to our list of date night possibilities and I may have even discovered a new park under construction locally. Oh, yeah nothing like keeping my options sassy and savory. Watch out date night here I come!
