Hamlet Carving Completed

In October of 2013 I was asked to contribute a carving for a special event being hosted by Inkwell and Kizmet in Washington.  They are working on a event that will be launched in August.  The event will run for three days but you would only attend one of the three days.  And costumes are encouraged (you have to appreciate that).  The boxes will be on private property and only accessible via the event so the Letterboxes will be protected which is a nice bonus for those contributing stamps.

The theme that they selected is Shakespeare. And the Title for the event is "The Hunt for Shakespeare's Quill". Many stamps that they have asked for pertain to specific plays, others with Shakespeare, or the time period and some Shakespeare insults thrown in. I picked the image I carved from a list they provided.  This is not a carving I would have normally carved but I do like the skull and I did an okay job on the words.  I am admittedly not a very skilled word carver but these came out okay. Maybe my skills are finally improving.

The stamp I just finished carving is LTC size so I will need to decide if I want to create a batch of LTC's before I mail the stamp for the event.  My contribution deadline is June 1, 2014 so I do have time to create some if I feel inspired enough.  It's such a good feeling to get carving commitments out the door and mailed before the deadline is here.
