Anthony planned a surprise weekend getaway for the two of us for Memorial Day Weekend.  We left town Friday morning and I had absolutely no idea where we were headed.  He apparently dropped hints all the time but I was just too dim (or excited) to catch any of them.  Our final destination was Bend, Oregon.  I have never traveled to Bend before (about 5 1/2 hours from Boise) but Anthony had visited twice previously.  Once to camp with Nick and once on this way through via motorcycle.

Not only did he plan an entire weekend for us but booked us into the amazing Oxford Hotel in Downtown Bend.  The hotel is classified as a Boutique Hotel with special amenities.  The hotel has exceptional service from all staff (nicest workers ever), sensuously beautiful suites and was perfectly situated to enable us to explore downtown.  Honestly I was speechless when he opened the door to our suite.  He made sure to point out every flea bag hotel to me between Boise and Bend so you can imagine my delight when we checked in.  I did find out that the hotel is even dog friendly although I am not sharing those details with Raisin and Jay who got left behind in Boise.  Actually the entire town is very dog friendly with water dishes everywhere, outside seating for you and your furry friends, trails and hikes galore.  A dogs paradise to be sure.  But in this case it was a paradise weekend for the two of us.  The Oxford Hotel was a wonderful start to our weekend of delights!
