Our last two days in Florida were spent in Disney World.  This was the first time Anthony and I have visited Disney World or Disneyland without kids or grandchildren.  Not only were we little people free but it was also off season at the parks.  We never waited for a ride for more than about 5 to 15 minutes, did not need reservations at any of the restaurants and we walked right into the shows with great seats and no wait.  Aside from a little rain in the afternoon our day at the Magic Kingdom was wonderful.  We were provided with Disney Magic Bands during our check in at the Saratoga Springs Hotel which really are like magic.  They open your hotel room door, you use them when photographers take your pictures, you enter the parks with them and you pay for everything from meals and snacks to gift shop purchases.  Basically there is no need for credit cards or cash with the Magic Bands as they are linked to your credit card and make all transactions effortless (a bit scary too).

The Magic Kingdom is very nostalgic from my childhood.  My sister, Michelle, and I were so blessed to have our parents take us almost every summer to visit Disneyland in California (a true labor of love for two little girls).  The set up in Florida at Disney World is almost identical to Disneyland so I knew my way around the park from memory.

We hit all my childhood favorites and Anthony's too.  From the Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Railroad, It's a Small World and Jungle Cruise to the Bear Country Jamboree and Enchanted Tiki Room.

We also visited Disney Worlds new Fantasyland by having lunch at the new Be Our Guest restaurant (Beauty and the Beast) and we rode the new Under the Sea - Journey of the Little Mermaid ride.  The only disappointment that we had was the rain caused both parades to be cancelled and we were not able to have our pictures taken with any characters while in the Magic Kingdom.  Part of the issue was timing on our part and part was due to the rain.  Otherwise it was the most relaxing visit we have ever made to Disneyworld or Disneyland.  We finished the day with shopping at the stores on Main Street and having dinner at The Wave in the Contemporary Hotel.  I did not check to see if there were any letterboxes in or around Disney World as the parks were more than enough to keep us busy from sun up to sun down.
