My First Postal Ring Participation Since 2007

I have not signed up for a Postal Letterbox Ring since 2007. I loved being part of them (especially during the winter). What stopped me from participating were boxers that would hold postal’s for months and months and other boxers, who would sign up, receive the boxes and you would never hear from them again. It was frustrating and disappointing to have both issues surface. I was recently tempted out of Postal Ring Retirement when NeNe shared with me that she was hosting a Marauder’s Map Postal Ring featuring the magical map from Harry Potter.

The Marauder's Map is a magical document that reveals all of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Not only does it show every classroom, every hallway, and every corner of the castle, but it also shows every inch of the grounds, as well as all the secret passages that are hidden within its walls and the location of every person in the grounds, portrayed by a dot. It is also capable of accurately identifying each person, and is not fooled by animagi, polyjuice potions, or invisibility cloaks. It can also reveal secret passages the Marauders found, though it only did this on one known occasion (in his third year, Harry Potter was shown how to use the statue of the humpbacked witch to enter Hogsmeade Village).

The map showed up recently along with 7 postal sets of feet. I received creature and teacher footprints that belong to Trevor, Mad Eye Moody, Buckbeak, Hedgwig, Nagina, Padfoot and Grawps.

For my contribution I am sending “Fang’s” feet around the ring. Fang is an over-sized boarhound dog, and one of Rubeus Hagrid's pets. He was a large dog that accompanied Hagrid in many places, including the Forbidden Forest, and lived in the latter's hut. Fang possibly helped fight the Death Eaters during the Battle of Hogwarts.
